Normandy Holiday Reviews of Guignon Fleury

I have been fortunate enough to stay at this charming Cottage on several occasions. It is set in picturesque countryside and has some fantastic places to visit nearby. Such a calming environment and I would most certainly recommend to anyone.

Thank you for organising this for us. We had a great w/end with no problems. The cottage was very nice and ideally located for us.
Best regards, Giles.

Holidaying in the cottage Guignon Fleury has been a perfect choice for our family for a few years now. It has given us the freedom to do what we want when we want. We love the countryside and the holiday cottage brought us closer to it. Each visit we have discovered new picturesque countryside, the lovely weather has been an added bonus. It is a wonderfully relaxing and beautiful area of France which offers nearby places to visit such as the tidal island of Le Mont-Saint-Michel, the towns of Bayeux and Granville, the Normandy beaches, Honfleur, and Saint-Malo. We even caught the train to Paris to visit Disney Land on one visit. The cottage is spacious, well fitted out, clean and vey comfortable. The location is beautifully secluded and an idyllic place to spend some quiet time but central to some wonderful places to visit.

We have visited the cottage Guignon Fleury on two occasions during 2010, once for a long Easter weekend then again in August for a ten day break with two of our grand children. The cottage itself provides comfort and practicality in a secluded rural area. The property has all the facilities to enjoy a relaxing environment while sipping the odd glass of wine. There is a large garden and decking / BBQ area ideal for al fresco activities and taking in the sun, but the real pleasure is the expansive countryside on your doorstep. There are opportunities for country walks and trying to catch sight of the wildlife, particularly the local deer. Although the location affords a degree of solitude and peacefulness, civilisation is not far away. All local amenities (supermarkets etc) are within a short drive and the local town of Mortain holds a weekly market that is vibrant and well worth a visit. The town offers shopping and café opportunities for the adults and parks and swimming pool for the children. Further afield there are numerous visitor attractions that should appeal to all age groups and interests. Both our stays there were thoroughly relaxing for us, while the children made the most of the outdoor life and cannot wait to return. Personally, we would recommend this to anyone who enjoys the simple pleasures in life, away from the hectic pace of normal city life.

Our visit to the cottage has been a great experience. Tranquil yet close to a lovely town where the locals are friendly and eating out is not expensive. The cottage has loads of room and is really nicely refurbished with a great kitchen for self catering and is easy to find. The location is really good if you want to just chill out and do little, or it is within reasonable travel distance to lots of places in France. We easily travelled to Granville and crossed to Jersey a must if you have not been to Jersey, visited the Normandy Beaches, especially Avranches which was really educational for the children and helped with their school projects, Le Mont St Michel another lovely visit and some nice markets in neighbouring towns. Mortain itself has some nice walks and a go cart track nearby which the children (and Dad) thought was great fun and the town has good shopping facilities. A really great experience of France and the French people.

We have enjoyed a number of relaxing holidays in this well equipped house, which is situated in a peaceful and secluded location.
Not too secluded though, as it is easy to travel to and enjoy the facilities in nearby Mortain, a five minute drive, which includes shops, restaurants and a heated open air swimming pool. The area is also a good base for day trips to Le Mans and Le Mont St Michael, as well as nearby Bayeux with its historic buildings and war museums.
From the house, you can take many walks through the woodland and farming areas to the little nearby village and enjoy the small cafe's and shops.
